I will be seeking re-election to the Hobsons Bay City Council at the elections this October. As I am an independent councillor, I have to try to raise funds to pay for lots of printing and distribution costs without the benefit of a political party machine – I hope you can help!
You all know that I have been a very proactive, passionate, dedicated and progressive councillor. I have achieved an incredible amount since being elected to the Hobsons Bay City Council in 2008. As an elected representative I have ensured successive budgets provided improvements to our foreshore, parks, sporting precincts, shopping strips and other infrastructure and services. I’ve worked to ensure the council has a healthy budget with no new borrowings, and constantly advocated on behalf of our community on a range of issues including disability and aged care services, public transport, hospital services and policing. I have also been very vocal in opposing inappropriate development and dirty industry – sometimes at some personal cost. This included successfully opposing the use of Methyl Bromide near homes in Altona.
